Experienced Nevada Personal Injury Litigators Take on Tough Cases

Respected Las Vegas attorneys represent victims of accidents and wrongdoing

It’s hard to know where to turn when you or a loved one has been seriously injured by the negligence or recklessness of another party. At Deaver|Crafton in Las Vegas, we are committed to ensuring that you and your family can focus on getting your life back together. We help accident victims fight for monetary compensation to pay for medical care, lost wages, property repairs, pain and suffering and other damages. We represent people injured due to motor vehicle collisions, property accidents, dog bites, defective products, nursing home mistreatment and other causes.

Knowledgeable lawyers work to prove fault of negligent drivers

Alcohol-impaired, distracted and otherwise unsafe drivers create serious road hazards and often cause accidents. If you were hit because another driver acted carelessly, that driver or their insurance company are responsible for your bodily injury and property damages. In Nevada, a car crash victim is entitled to monetary damages as long as they are no more than 50 percent at fault. Our attorneys conduct investigations to prove culpability in motor vehicle accidents, including those involving pedestrians and bicyclists, who often suffer catastrophic injuries due to their particular vulnerability.

Though Nevada places a limit on the monetary amount that can be awarded for pain and suffering, there is no damage cap on other types of compensation. Severe harm such as traumatic brain injury requires special analysis and documentation. We use such evidence as medical records and prognoses, repair bills and pay stubs to calculate the full compensation our clients deserve.

Holding premises owners liable for hazards that cause harm

In Nevada, owners and others in control of premises must keep the grounds safe for anyone legally present, including customers and other guests. If an owner knows about, or should have known about, a dangerous condition on their property and fails to take reasonable measures to correct it, they are liable for damages from resulting accidents, including:

  • Slip and falls — You are generally entitled to compensation for personal injury and property damage (such as to clothes or items you were carrying). But you can only recover if the slip and fall was no more than 50 percent due to your own negligence, such as ignoring a warning sign.
  • Dog bites — Dog owners in Nevada are liable for failure to take reasonable precautions to prevent their pets from attacking other people, whether on their own property or elsewhere.

Nevada maintains a two-year time limit for filing most personal injury actions. For slip and falls, it is three years. If the statute of limitations expires, it may be impossible to hold wrongful parties accountable. It is therefore wise to contact a personal injury attorney promptly after an accident occurs.
